Three attorneys with Davis County ties and over 80 years of combined experience have joined together to form a new law firm with a main office in Bountiful and a satellite office in Tooele. The name of the new firm is Schmutz & Mohlman, LLC. Their Bountiful office is located in the new office building at Colonial Square at 533 West 2600 South, Suite 200 and their telephone number is 801-298-4800.
Chris L. Schmutz joins the new firm after practicing in Idaho and Utah for over 28 years. Chris received his undergraduate and law degrees from BYU. Chris has practiced in Pocatello, Idaho and in Salt Lake and has been in solo practice for more than 20 years. He specializes in bankruptcy and commercial litigation. Chris lives is Bountiful and is excited to have an office a little closer to home. Chris and his wife Susan have five children.
Jay R. Mohlman grew up in Bountiful and lives here now. He graduated from Bountiful High School in 1976 and received his undergraduate degree from BYU and his law degree from the University of Utah. Jay has been a litigation attorney with the law firm of Nielsen & Senior for the past 15 years. His practice has mainly involved personal injury, malpractice and other accidental injuries. Jay and his wife Debbie have five children.
Frank T. Mohlman was raised in Bountiful and graduated from Bountiful High School in 1968. Frank received his undergraduate and law degrees from BYU and has lived in Tooele, Utah for the past 33 years. He was involved in private practice in Tooele for 17 years and has spent 5 years acting as General Counsel for I-O Corporation, a computer engineering and manufacturing company located in Salt Lake. He practices in the areas of general corporate and commercial law, intellectual property, estate planning and civil and criminal litigation. Frank served as a school board member in Tooele County for 12 years and has also acted both as a prosecuting attorney and defense lawyer. He and his wife Lucille have 5 children and 18 grandchildren. Frank will spend most of his time in the Tooele office.
